Richard Case is Principal for Peer Survey Professionals, PSP Enterprises, which specializes in Competitive Win/Loss customer interviewing and analysis. Working with high tech companies around the world such as VMware, Software AG, Lionbridge, Websense, Red Hat, Oracle, IBM, HP, and many others.
Prior to establishing PSP Enterprises in 1997, Richard was a Gartner Vice President for seven years. He was responsible for conducting customer Win/Loss analysis globally. After thousands of interviews using low-level interviewers, Richard determined that only by using high level, IT experienced, interviewers could you collect the kind of executive input needed to make actionable recommendations for his clients. Richard left Gartner to form his own company to provide this service at a reasonable cost.
Before Gartner, Richard was the Competitive Intelligence Group Manager at Digital Equipment Corporation. He was with DEC for 17 years in positions ranging from software projects consulting to direct sales and sales management to corporate marketing to competitive analysis directly.
Richard is the named researcher for U.S. Patent 5,734,890: Case et al: System and Method for Analyzing Procurement Decisions.
